It was clear during Wednesday night's Westhampton Beach Village trustees meeting that the board remains divided when it comes handling accounting discrepancies that relate to over and underpayments of village employees.

Nearly a quarter of a million cubic yards of sand are being transported to the Hampton Bays shoreline, replenishing the beaches west of the Shinnecock Inlet and around Tiana Bay after they were heavily damaged in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, as well as last year's Tropical Storm Irene.

A white deer was spotted prancing in the upper Red Creek Ridge in Hampton Bays this weekend by an area resident.

While white deer, otherwise known as a piebald deer, are uncommon to the area, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation, they have been spotted on the East End in the past.

Three Hampton Bays men were arrested last week in a drug bust orchestrated by the East End Drug Task Force, according to Southampton Police.

5. Manhattan Lawyer Pleads Guilty to Hitting Bicyclist While Drunk

A Manhattan lawyer pleaded guilty last week to driving drunk and fleeing the scene of a crime after he hit a man riding his bicycle in Quogue last summer, and sent him to the hospital with serious injuries.
