Village Fall Clean-up Schedule Amended After Sandy

The following information was provided by the Villages of Westhampton Beach and Quogue.

Both the Villages of Westhampton Beach and Quogue have amended their leaf clean-up schedule in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. The following is each of the village's new clean-up schedules.

Village of Westhampton Beach

The Village of Westhampton Beach's Annual Fall Leaf Pick-Up Program began on Nov. 1. Due to the after effects of Hurricane Sandy, the Highway Department will pick up brush in addition to leaves during the month. The village asks that brush be kept separate from leaves and that nothing is piled on or in front of hydrants and storm drains. Mixed material and land clearing debris will not be picked up.

Village of Quogue

The Village of Quogue's highway department has started its annual collection of leaves. Leaves must be kept on the shoulder of the street by Dec. 15 in order to be picked up and no leaves should be piled around hydrants or utility equipment and plastic bags filled with leaves will not be collected. In the wake of Hurricane Sandy, the village says it will also remove storm debris only from the right of way that is placed there by homeowners, but not landscapers or other professionals.
