Hampton Bays teens Jason Kosfsky and Austin Ferreira have both garnered spots in the National Fine Arts Competition, which will be held in Louisville in August.
The teens, according to Pastor Eric Ray of the won spots in the competition after attending the Annual New York District of Assemblies of God Youth Convention in Syracuse, New York April 4 though April 7.
The teens, who are both members of the church's youth group, called Burn and meets every Friday night, tried out for the arts New York division of the competition while at the convention in which the New York District Fine Arts Festival.
According to Ray, Kosofsky and Ferreira, who also lead a weekly Bible Club that meets after school at the , were among thousands of teens who tried out. Kosfsky won for his electric guitar solo and Ferreira won in the art division.
