Town Transfer Stations Accepting Storm Debris [UPDATED]

Transfer stations will also accept spoiled food and bulk items, and provide curbside pick-up.

With residents cleaning up tons of debris, including fallen tree branches and leaves, from Sunday's storm, the town of Southampton has opted to provide a special curb-side pick-up service and accept debris and storm-related waste free of charge at transfer stations.

According to the town's , debris no larger than 3 inches in diameter and no longer than 6 feet in length should be piled up by the curb. Larger debris should stacked in a second pile.

Aside from curbside pick-up the town will also be accepting brush until Sunday at it's Westhampton, and Hampton Bays locations.

Storm-related kitchen waste or food waste will be accepted free of charge until Wednesday at the North Sea, Hampton Bays and Westhampton transfer stations.

Any storm-damaged bulk items, such as air conditioners or refridgerators, may be brought to either the Hampton Bays or North Sea transfer stations free of charge until Wednesday.
