PHOTOS: Shinneock Coast Guard Station Documents Sandy's Wrath

The Shinneock Coast Guard Station survives the storm.

The Hampton Bays-based Shinnecock Coast Guard Station and its members weathered Hurricane Sandy and documented the entire event on their Facebook Page.

The station posted photos from pre-storm preparations — moving 47-foot Motor lifeboats to a safe-haven in Montauk — to mopping up water from the basement of the station and responding to dune Road after the storm where the roadway was flattened over by a wash over.
