Scenescapes: Shinnecock Canal

A new short video clip of everyday life in Westhampton-Hampton Bays.

With video cameras and our smart phones capturing video is easier than ever.

Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch wants to encourage you to take video clips of anything quirky, beautiful, funny or dramatic in when you're out and about the village, at home or anywhere.

Channel your inner digital Scorsese and mail the clips to editor Erica.Jackson@patch.com, and we'll do a quick edit and post.

Here's a clip of Shinnecock Canal in Hampton Bays, a vital link for fisherman and recreational boaters between Peconic and Shinnecock bays.  The locks are open and the convergence of tides is very visible as it whisks beneath the Long Island Rail Road trestle past lunching diners at Tide Runners Grill.

In case you missed our last video moments, click these links: , Boat, Lemondade, Surf, Finish Line or Waves to check them out.

I think this is my favorite video so far! We've got action! There's the boat, the train and the swift water current. (That's a heck of a current!!) Thanks for posting!
