Quogue Police: Woman Assaulted While Taking Out Garbage

Quogue Village Police arrest and incident reports through April 17.

Assault

On April 6, a resident of Deer Path, reported to Quogue police that while taking out the garbage at around 11:17 p.m., a man walked up to her, struck her and then ran away on foot.  Police said the man did not attempt to rob the woman. The crime is under investigation. 

DWIs

• On April 6 at 3:57 a.m., police charged Tara Barsch, 34, of Middle Island with DWI, a misdemeanor. Police said they pulled Barsch on Montauk Highway for speeding.

• On April 12 6:39 p.m., police charged Ronald Mills, 53, of Quogue, with DWI, a misdemeanor. Mills was initially pulled over on Old Country Road for failing to stop at a stop sign. He was also ticketed for having no inspection. 

•  On April 13, police charged Edwin Tay-Chan, 36, of Hampton Bays, with DWI and aggravated driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors. He was stopped at 11:23 p.m. on Montauk Highway for making an unsafe lane change.

• On April 14 at 2:07 a.m., police charged Christopher Johanson, 30, of Westhampton, with driving while impaired by drugs and driving while impaired by drugs and alcohol, both misdemeanors. He was initially stopped on Montauk Highway for having an expired inspection.
