Portion of Route 31 Near New Traffic Circle Reopens

Entire project won't be complete until the end of December.

A section of Route 31 was reopened to traffic on Tuesday after being closed for road work for the past month, according to an article on 27east.  The portion of it had been closed while construction crews worked on the new traffic circle in Flanders.

An approximately 300-yard section of Route 104 remains closed in both directions from the new traffic circle south toward Quogue and motorists traveling east toward Riverhead are being detoured to Sunrise Highway and the Old Riverhead Road exit.

The $1.1 million project is expected to be finished by the end of December, according to 27east.
