Four new units will be constructed in their place.

Numerous motel units and cottages on The 2.5-acre Weathervane property in Quogue were demolished this week, making room for four new structures.

According to William M. Nowak, chief building inspector for the Village of Quogue, the developer, Rocco Lettieri, received a special exception permit in 2010 to knock down the buildings and construct four, new 3,600-square-foot dwellings with accessory structures.

The historic Jessup Homestead will be converted for single-family use, said Nowak.
