As the Village of Westhampton Beach issued a mandatory evacuation of its Category 2 Flood Zone on Monday morning, the Village Marina had already started to flood.
The marina, does frequently flood in storm events; however, Hurricane Sandy is expected to bring more rain, wind and additional flooding.
During Hurricane Irene, waters flooded Library Avenue extension and on Friday, Paul Houlihan, the building and zoning administrator for the village, said he would not be surprised if waters reach higher than they did during Irene.
