Rick Nydegger, of Hampton Bays, snapped these photos of 93-year-old Shinnecock Locks at 8 a.m. on Monday morning, just a half an hour after the high tide mark.
As Hurricane Sandy continues to batter the Northeast, additional tidal flooding is expected.
The Shinnecock Locks, which connect the Great Peconic Bay to Shinnecock Bay and the Atlantic Ocean, will experience another high tide at 7:43 p.m. with a low tide at 1:24 p.m.
