Photos: A Look Back at the Blizzard of 2010
Last year, a blizzard dumped 16 inches of snow in spots.
The day after Christmas 2010 brought a blizzard packing 16 inches of snow, sleet and heavy winds. The storm left residents digging out for days, erosion and a heavy bill for Southampton highway department services.
December 2011 has proved to be mild and the Farmer's Almanac is predicting that the rest of the winter will remain "gentle." The almanac reports, "the winter will be cold with an average amount of winter precipitation."
