Multiple Car Accidents Reported Across Area

With rain turning over to heavy snow and more cars on the road, Southampton Police said they are being inundated with accident calls.

"We are very busy and have had multiple calls of cars going off the roadway," said Officer Michael Zarro, who said police are urging moterists to stay off the road.

One car, he said careened into a sander on County Road 31 in Westhampton — specific details of that accident, he said, are not immediately available as officers are still on the scene.

The East Quogue Fire Department, via its Facebook Page, is also reporting a volume of car accidents. In the last hour, the department said it has responded to two car crashes.
