Photos: 40th Annual Mary O. Fritchie Juried Art Show Winners Announced

Chloe Wang wins best in show.

Judges Rosanna Gleixner, Linda Kabot, Monique Santander and Allegra Dioguardi have made their picks in the Westhampton Chamber of Commerce's annual Mary O. Fritchie juried art show, which was attended by over 100 artists and thousands of spectators on the hot and hazy days of August 4 and 5.

According to Karen McNamara, who sits on the board of directors of the Westhampton Beach Chamber of Commerce, the judges admitted that it took longer than usual to choose this year's winners in multiple categories due to the superb level of entries.

John David, the show's coordinate agreed: "The quality of art was the best ever presented at this juried show."

McNamara said she wishes to thank all those helped make the show a success.

She said, "So much is taken for granted when you stroll through the show and see the artists in their booths quietly sitting and hoping to make a sale. I had the good fortune to be a volunteer at the show this year, and I can personally attest to the amount of hard work and multiple hours dedicated by so many volunteers. A huge thank you to James Hatter of Astoria Federal Savings for his hands on help and financial sponsorship of the Children’s Art Clinic. Thank you to Heather Bittner Bester for her management skills and ability to pull volunteers together. Thank you to the Westhampton Chamber staff and board members who came out to offer their time and support to ensure the success of this show. Thank you to the and Public Works for their assistance in making the event site safe and keeping it clean. This was definitely a great team effort."
