With residents cleaning up tons of debris, including fallen tree branches and leaves, from Sunday's storm, the Town of Southampton has opted to provide a special curb-side pick-up service.

Several utility poles come down, cracked in half, or tilted along Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays between South Valley Road and Ocean View Road, and the stretch of road is closed as repairs are made.

Westhampton Dunes Police are only allowing residents to check their homes.

Quogue Mayor Peter Sartorius says the the Post Lane Bridge in Quogue, which leads to Dune Road is open as of 9:30 a.m.

A day after Hurricane Irene hit and flooding prevented motorists from driving Dune Road, Westhampton Beach Mayor Conrad Teller said the village's bridges are open.

The Long Island Power Authority says it expects 95 percent of customers to have power restored by the end of the week, as nearly 400,000 remained in the dark on Monday.

Long Island is down to a two-day supply of blood because the weekend storm forced the cancellation of numerous blood drives.

With many residents still without power across the Town of Southampton, Southampton Fire Marshal Cheryl Kraft is asking residents to be careful using candles and lanterns.

Officials reopened on Monday morning. Most homes on the roadway appeared damage-free. The roadway was also clear of water with a few rough spots in the Quogue and Hampton Bays area.

As the Hurricane Irene subsided Sunday afternoon, Westhampton Beach and Quogue residents found many downed trees and wires, as well as flooded streets.

Hampton Bays roads were flooded in several areas Sunday morning, and fallen trees caused some damage and took down some power lines.
