How is Your Property After Sandy? Ask Questions, Find Answers

Please use the comment section to ask and respond to questions.

Hurricane Sandy's wrath has many residents, who are under evacuation orders and others who are out-of-town, concerned about the state of their property.

Over the past two days, Westhampton-Hampton Bays Patch has been inundated with calls, e-mails, texts and Facebook messages from homeowners looking for a shimmer of information about their homes. Patch has done our best to provide as much information as possible with the help of our readers.

To assist further, Patch is asking residents looking for information to ask their questions in the comment section below and in turn, we ask anyone with information to respond in the comment section (you can also post photos). Patch will also do our best to find answers.

Be sure to also continue to check back at Patch as we continue to work around the clock to cover Sandy's aftermath. A round-up of all our Hurricane Sandy posts can be found here. And the latest on Dune Road can be found here.

Dune Road is open in WHB. My house is between the Jessup and Beach lane bridges on bay side. My buddy was just there and all looks ok. He said it looks like water came up about 3 feet under the house but no signs of wash overs etc. He is heading to Pond point now and will let you know when I hear

Pond Point is probably the worst area...The entire point was under 3 feet of water (Based on the seaweed and other things we saw today while looking at homes in the middle of the point.. If your house is elevated you probably didn't get flooded.. If your house is one of the cottages that stand right about the bulk heading then you probably did.. The entire place is a mess though and many houses were missing shingles. I spoke with a lot of hearty souls in that area today.. Lots of nice people over there...

Jasmine-- Dune road is still closed where you live.

Dune Road -- People were asking often about quantuck beach club.. there was some structural damage there... Sandpiper --I spoke with the superintendent and there is lots of sand in the road due to washovers, but the last dune held.... I'm sure everyone now has a lot of information on there homes due to it now be opening, but if there is anything else I can answer.. I'm here!

Just left dune road.. All is good except where I am In the Oceanside range of 723 through like 753 there were 2 minor breaches. This is an area that has breakthrough. still minor in scheme of the storm . From what is saw driving by all street side, 800 block all good -- 900 block looked good as far until I could get ~ 939. 892 and Dune Lane all looked good. House on dune lane with gazebo well that toppled over. I didn't get down cove ln but peeked in from 816 and 812 and I couldn't see anything but I didn't see back by water. All of the condos look good. All if them Tennis courts intact one condo had fence on bay side blown over. But really all in all everything Looked fine. 503 & the homes in the 600s looked ok from street . I think 648 had worker trucks In driveway ?? But everyone who has posted houses you all looked ok as I drove by.
Lauren November 01, 2012 at 10:49 PM
Joann sorry I didn't se your house number when I was rhere but that stretch is all ok from what I could see driving by. Some houses are buried down long driveways so I couldn't see much as I drove by

Thanks for your reply Chad. Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but isn't Basket Neck across the island a bit from Cedar Lane?
