Hampton Bays Girl Slam Dunks Spot in National Hoop-Shoot Competition

Riley Tupper will compete again on March 23.

Over the weekend, Riley Tupper of Hampton Bays, proved that she has what it takes to be a star — She is now the Elk's Club's New York State hoop-shooting champion in the girls 10-11 division.

Tupper made the win in Syracuse, shooting 18 out of 25 hoops. She will now advance to the Southeast Regional Finals in Wilkes-Barre, PA on March 23.

Tupper arrived at the New York State finals after competing in the semi-finals last month, where she shot 17 out of 25 hoops.

This will be the second time that Tupper will head to the national rounds — two years ago, she made to the nationals as an 8-year-old, representing New York in her age group. She finished 7th in the US.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
