Former Appliance Store Owner Avoids Jail With Plea

Robert L. Stevens will have to pay $14,000 to his employees.

In Southampton Village Court on Wednesday, Robert L. Stevens, 68, of Sarasota, Florida pled guilty to one charge of attempted petit larceny, a misdemeanor, avoiding jail time, according to an article posted on 27east

The article reports that Stevens, the former owner of Bob Stevens Appliances in Westhampton, took a plea bargain that only requires him to pay $14,000 to his former employees. He stood accused of taking money from the 401K plans of ex-employees and was originallyfelonies.
