Fire Department Publicizes Emergency Calls

Calls are now being reported on the Westhampton Beach Fire Department's website.

In an ongoing effort to help the public understand the volume of calls they respond to, the is now reporting all firematic calls on its website

Late last month, the fire department added the feature to its website as a log, noting all accidents, alarms and working fires that they responded to. 

The department said the log is updated frequently so residents will be able to see the kind of incidents that department responds to, and the date and time.

The new log is in addition to press releases and photos that the department frequently posts on its site. 

Chief Chip Bancraft said that the department has a goal to "let the public know how their taxes are being spent."
