To celebrate the Super Bowl, the Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation has scheduled the release of Bart, a yearling, male harbor seal that was rescued in Montauk on November 17.
According to the foundation, Bart was found underweight, with a broken jaw and wounds on his body. He has since made a full recovery.
Bart will be released under the Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays at noon on Sunday.
