Cops: Three Distract German Shepherd With Bones to Burglarize Home

All three men were charged with felonies.

A large German Shepherd did not dissuade three men from attempting to burglarizing an East Quogue Spinney Road home on Wednesday.

According to Southampton Town Police, Wilson A. Garcia, 20, of East Quogue; Eli Garcia, 18, also of East Quogue; and Gustavo Gonzalez, 18, Hampton Bays, fed the dog bones in order to enter the home. What they didn't know, said police, was that someone else was also in the residence.

Police say that while inside the home looking for items to steal, the three were startled by an occupant, which caused them to flee.

Police say they searched the area and spotted the three men in a car. They were detained, questioned and each charged with a felony burglary charge.

Aside from being charged in connection with the attempted burglary on Wednesday, the men were each also slapped with a second felony burglary charge for a burglary on July 7 in which police say the men cased houses in East Quogue, finding one to burglarize on Spinney Road.

Police say the men stole a rifle, laptop, Play Station, jewelry, coins and a Brinks safe, which police found discarded in a wooded area on Spinney Road.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
