2012 Chili, Chowder Winners Announced

Over 800 people attended Sunday's event, held at the Boardy Barn.

The official results to the Hampton Bays Chamber of Commerce's 14th annual Chili/Chowder contest are in — 1 North Steakhouse, the reigning judges choice winner for chili was knocked out by newcomer Catfish Bisagni and Cowfish took first place in both the judges and people's choice categories for its chowder. Rumba, which is also owned by the owners of Cowfish, previously held the best chowder title.

Held on Sunday at the Boardy Barn, the event brought out over 800 people, who got to try and judge chili and chowder made by this year's 21 contestants.

Among this year's judges were Southampton Town Clerk Sundy Schermeyer, Tony Galgano, and Southampton Councilman Chris Nuzzi.

  • 1st place: Cowfish
  • 2nd place: Docker’s Waterside Restaurant

Peoples Choice-Choweder

  • 1st Place: Cowfish
  • 2nd Place: Block Island Seafood (new contestantI)
  • 3rd Place: Dockers Waterside Restaurant
