Before and After Sandy Aerial Photo: Quogue Village Beach

Sand bags that were exposed during Hurricane Sandy have been covered.

Work to shore up Quogue Village Beach after Hurricane Sandy ripped through the area, exposing sand bags that sat 7 feet high has been completed as seen in aerial photos taken last week by Jeff Cully.

Contractors had been working at the site since late November building up the area and according to Quogue Village Mayor Peter Sartorius the village has allocated $50,000 to restoring the beach.

To date, $25,000 in sand has been purchased and placed, but Sartorus said more sand will be needed depending on the severity of the winter.

P. Killian, Thanks for asking. We just reached out to State police. They are doing seatbelt checks.
