Annual Village Holiday Light Contest Announced

Judging will take place on Dec. 13.

Pull the lights from the attic and get stringing — the Village of Westhampton Beach has set Dec. 13 for its 11th Annual Holiday Light Contest.

According to Patricia DiBenedetto, the liaison to the village's beautification committee, which hosts the contest, both residents and businesses are invited to participate in the event, which has a rain date of Dec. 14.

Those wishing to participate need only to have their holiday lights on from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Dec. 13.

At that time, members of the beautification committee will drive around looking for the best and the brightest.

Judges will choose first, second and third place winners in three categories, residential, small business and large business. All first place winners will receive a $100 cash and all winners will get a color photo of their home or business all decked out.

Contest results will be announced on Dec. 20.
