That is not taking into consideration all the illegals that are residing here also.

I think the increase in the Latino population is great for the community. The value of diversity and work ethic cannot be measured or under valued. This country is an immigrant nation and it is the greatest country in the world. Now, lets get everyone to operate within the law. I look to the Latino community itself to help those guys in front of the movie theater get legal and get help.

Chris all of those illegals standing on the street left their families behind to come here. Children and wives are abandon in there countries and told that there fathers (illegals) are going to send money back to them. But chris 90 % of them don't, They do alot of drugs, drinking and prostitution and 50 % of them start having babies here and start new families never to go back. PS chris I know this because I use to employ them in 2006 until I found out that they can sue employee's and homeowners who hire them and they get hurt on homeowners property check your homeowners insurance. This is not good for our towns , oh yeh chris the next time one of them goes to the bathroom between the cars in hampton bays perhaps you can clean it up ( welcome to the Hampton bub ) Thank you TIM BISHOP for doing nothing about this, You should be ashamed !!!!!!!!!

Did anyone count the illegals living in the wooda and in illegal apts in basements? Do you really think that even half of them were counted? Name one community that got better when it was overrun with hispanics, legal or illegal?
Carol March 29, 2011 at 02:05 PM
Amen to that.. No one has done anything. And while our taxes go up to support there children going to school and medical bills but thats okay? I think there should be a major crack down in town, but I don't think we will ever see it.

Our community is embarrassing in the morning. If you go by the Duncan donuts you see so many of them trying to get work. I was scared to go into Dunken donuts because of them. It really looks bad. And is make me more angry that the police doesn't do anything about it.

Erica, please check the math. The percentage increase in Hampton Bays is really 154%' The increase in Remsenberg/Speonk is 49% The increase in East Quoge is 84% The increase in Westhampton is 142% The increase in Quogue Village is 62% The increase in Westhampton Beach 132% The real statistic that you should look at is that Hampton Bays has 3897 Hispanics plus the uncounted illegals which is 174% higher than all the other communities in the Town of Southampton west of the canal combined which total 1420 people. Our school has plenty of children of illegal aliens who by the way do not pay any real estate taxes and work off the books providing cheap labor that helps maintain the estates throughout the Hamptons. The school taxes in Hampton Bays are 5 times higher then our neighbors in Southampton because of the 13 different school districts. If our code enforcement, police and INS officers enforced our laws this problem could be addressed. The tax payers living in Hampton Bays are paying more than their fair share of the burden to educate the illegal aliens living in the Hamptons and our local politicians don't want to correct the problem by enforcing the existing rental occupancy law and the zoning law related to the number of families living in one family houses. Until the problem spreads to the rest of the Hamptons the situation will not be addressed.

E. Trillo, Thank you for pointing that out. The math has been corrected.

Hampton Bays is a dumping ground. You will soon see legal residents taking flight.....our town is overrun with illegals. No one in Southampton Town is doing anything, in fact the illegals are encouraged so that there is a huge population of cheap labor to service the ever growing obscenly wealthy out east! Just so long as they live west of the canal.
