What Would Float in This Former Fish Market? [Empty in Westhampton]

The former home of Bennet Seafood and most recently, Beth's Fish Market, is looking for a new tenant.

For over 30 years, locals knew it as Bennett Seafood. Now, the most recent former home of in Westhampton Beach is looking for a new tenant to make some new history inside its walls.

Jackie Bennet ran the market with her husband Bill, who built the 1,2000-square-foot space, until they leased to Starr Boggs about seven years ago, who ran the space for five years until it became Beth's.

What's next? Could be anything, Jackie said.

She said different entrepreneurs have expressed interest in starting a luncheonette, someone last weekend thought about opening a Spanish food diner, and one person even considered a law office, she said.

But the type of business doesn't make much difference to her, she said.

"Everybody wants to do something, but nobody's signed the lease yet," she said.

"I'll give it to the first person who gives me some money," she added with a laugh.

The Bennetts are asking $3,000 per month in rent, which includes heat, air conditioning, and a newly renovated bath. For more information, call 288-5105.
