A new eatery is looking to open in the former 3 Aces Italian restaurant on Montauk Highway in Hampton Bays next summer.
Last week, Patch interviewed the new owner, Ed Hilinski, who said he has a vision to renovate and open the restaurant under the name, The Good Ground Restaurant. Hilinski said he plans to serve All American food, from burgers to steaks.
Patch readers had a lot to say about the plan, some not in favor of another restaurant in the area, but others were thrilled to hear that Hilinski plans to clean up the former 3 aces spot.
The following is a round-up of what readers had to say. Keep the conversation going by adding your thoughts to the comment section below.
Linda Ouderkirk-Rempe: I think it's a fantastic idea. A locally owned eatery. Best of luck to you, can't wait to come visit.

oonald November 09, 2013 at 07:42 AMCapitalism is a great thing, create jobs, make a payroll, provide a good product, the people who discourage you ed never cut a paycheck and probably receive a check from the government or people like you and me who pay taxes that pays their salary. I say good luck mr. Hilinski and if your food is good the word will spread fast and you will be successful.
Dozen Roses November 09, 2013 at 08:30 AMImprovements to property and family oriented businesses are always a plus for HB. Looking forward to a place for breakfast. Good luck, Chef Hilenski!
Rosie Reiss: Really the only one thing a restaurant needs to serve in the whole Hamptons is a Deli. We have to drive all the way to Lake Grove for Good (Jewish) Deli food. Good Luck with the New Place and thanks for cleaning up the area.
cbg: We just really need another Burger Joint (sarcastic). Why can't we get some good food. Maybe no one knows how to cook good?
