Tide Runners Set to Open Friday Night

Stephen Ryan says Tide Runners is ready for the summer crowd.

Tide Runners, one of the more unique eateries in Hampton Bays with a 12 slip marina and outdoor deck, has set it's opening season for May 4 at 4 p.m.

Operated for the past nine years by Stephen Ryan and two partners, Tide Runners, says Ryan is one of the only area eateries where "you can get your feet wet" during high tide while enjoying a glass or wine and a great meal.

"We are the closest to the water you can be," said Ryan. "You can come by car or boat."

This season, Tide Runners will feature a few new menu items, said Ryan along with the popular daily lobster specials.

Ryan said he also has a full season of music lined up, including reggae music every Friday night.

"We have a world-famous happy hour on Fridays with sponsored beer and drink specials," said Ryan.

Also planned this season is a Kentucky Derby day party and Mother's Day lunch specials.

"We are great party spot," said Ryan.

Through the month of May, Tide Runners will be open on weekends only and will open full-time mid-June.

Ah Yes that place........over priced ,half full drinks, with over the hill snotty bartenders.Great place to get ignored and ripped off! They may treat you "OK" but once the summer crowd comes out, they forget who was tipping and supporting them in May and June.

This waterfront restaurant has a great view of the Shinnecock Canal and of the parade of boats coming and going through the waterway. They have music and a great crowd on the weekends. Unfortunately this may be the last season for this great spot because of the Planned Development District (PDD) submission that is requesting approval of 40 Town Houses to replace this unique public area and restaurant. To raise a voice against this PDD go to the Southampton Town Hall on June 12, 2012 at 1 PM and tell the Town Board of your objection to this zoning change.
