Shuckers Sets May Opening Date

The seasonal restaurant will open for the season on May 19.

For the past several weeks, Patrick McCormack, the owner of , in Hampton Bays, has been readying a season opening on May 19 at 3 p.m.

Shuckers fans will be excited to know that over the winter a brand-new menu was created with the help of Brian Mazzio, former chef at the now-closed Finn's in Westhampton and Della Femina in East Hampton, McCormack said.

"Last year we took it easy," he said. "We now have a little something for everyone, including a kids' menu."

The new menu features fresh seafood dishes, like lobster quesadilla, lobster sliders, four new types of fish tacos that come with Asian slaw and smoked chili aiolia, Thai fried calamari tossed in a chili garlic sauce with fresh herbs and lime zest, and Mother Shucker dish, which McCormack said is a seafood paradise for two and includes a pound of muscles, a dozen clams, shrimp and 2 pounds of lobster, along with a loaf of bread and two ears of corn.

McCormack said his restaurant will also feature an all-new local wine list.

Shuckers will also have lobster specials Saturday and Sundays, offering a quarter lobster, mussels, clams and corn for $19.95 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. That same special will also be available on Thursday nights starting June 21 along with a half-price kids' menu.

And popular menu items like Parrot Head conch fritters with key lime chipolata and green curry coconut steamed mussels, clams and king crab legs will continue to be offered.

With live music everyday, including Friday reggae nights with Acoustic Vibe, McCormack said he has branded his restaurant as family friendly.

"The kids can run around and dance on our big deck," McCormack said.
