Safe's Empty and Former Bank [Empty in Westhampton-Hampton Bays]

This commercial space can be bought or rented.

Formerly home to North Fork Bank, 43 Main Street in Westhampton Beach is  now completely empty.

The owner of the property, Tommy Demetriades, of World Properties, LLC says he bought the two-story commercial building about eight years ago, right before North Fork Bank vacated.

"Right now it's empty," said Demetriades, who said he hopes to fill the space sooner rather than later.

"It could really be anything," he said.  "It would make sense as a clothing store, or a book store would be great because it has a fire place.  Or a coffee shop or bakery, but then you would have to change the use."

The building, zoned commercial, has 3,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and another 3,500 square feet of office space.

Demetriades said the building is on the market for $2.4 million, but if someone wants to rent it, rather than buy it, he is open to the idea.

To rent the retail space, Demetriades said he is looking for $120,000 annually.

As to the office space, he said he really hasn't put much thought into a rental fee for it since the offices are spread out in the building.
