Open for the Season: Main Street Sweets

is now open for the season — owner Kenny Schnabel opened the doors to the at noon on Friday.

Schnabel said he is excited about the upcoming season and ready to dish out popular Ben & Jerry's flavors like cookie dough and serve up candy like Swedish fish and chocolate gold coins.

New this season at Main Street Sweets is Ben & Jerry's Greek frozen yogurt, which Schnabel believes will sell very well. 

"Sales of regular Greek yogurt are exploding, I can only imagine how the frozen yogurt will do," Schnabel said.

Flavors available in the Greek yogurt, said Schnabel are Banana Peanut Butter and Blueberry vanilla gram.

"The banana peanut butter is a really interesting mix," Schnabel said.

This weekend for Mother's Day, Schnabel says the store will once again be selling candy boxes filled with truffles, stem cherries, chocolate apricots, orange peel, marzipan, almond bark and butter crunch.

Mother's Day weekend the store will be open till 8 p.m on Friday; on Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and on Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Seasonal weekly hours will begin shortly, Schnabel said.
