New Restaurant to Bring Simple Seafood Dishes to Hampton Bays

The new Dune Road eatery is set to open at the end of the month.

A shuttered restaurant that has gone through multiple name changes over the past several years will have another new name come the end of June when its new owner opens it as the Hampton Lady Beach Bar and Grill.

Last week, James Foley, owner of the four-year-old Hampton Lady Fishing Charter, purchased 363 Dune Road in Hampton Bays, and he said he plans to transform it a restaurant that will keep locals, as well as his charter clients coming back for more.

"It is one of the most beautiful spots — there is a view of the water from every window and when I am done with it, people won't even recognize it."

But before he can open, he said he wants to make sure it is perfect, so he is taking his time while he awaits permits.

Foley said it has always been his dream to open a restaurant and marina and when the opportunity presented itself, he said he had to reel it in.

Aside from the atmosphere,  Foley believes customers will be attracted to the locale because of the menu he plans to offer — straight up seafood, nothing extravagant and at affordable prices.

"People can come have lunch, a great view and not spend a fortune," he said.

His business plan also calls for anchoring his charter business into the restaurant by luring in charter customers by offering up his chef to them.

"My charter customers can bring in their freshly caught fish and have it prepared by my chef."

The location, he said, will also offer slips for 20 boats in the near future.

Foley said he hopes to hold a grand opening by the end of the month.
