Hampton Cupcake Lounge Expands

Healthy cupcakes, cake pops and cookies, will soon be available in local shops.

Hampton Cupcake Lounge, a healthy cupcake business, owned by Cynthia Sachs, of Westhampton, is expanding.

The business, which opened in February with a storefront at 94 Montauk Highway in East Moriches, is now starting to distributing its goods, wholesale across the East End and as far west as Manhattan.

Sachs said she is now in the process of finding local distributors, including area delis. She then plans to move west.

Sachs said that expanding her reach was a natural move, especially after she found that diabetic customers were traveling to her store from as far away as Hicksville.

According to Sachs, all of Hampton Cupcake Lounge's goods are baked with health in mind, made with unsweetened fruit purees, skim milk and all-natural sweeteners, making them healthy treats for type-2 diabetics, such as herself, to enjoy.

"We continue to reach out to people who not only have restricted diets, but who are also looking for baked goods that are healthier for themselves and their children," said Sachs.

Goods that will be available at local shops will be healthy cookies, including the new peanut butter chocolate chip flavor and cake pops of all flavors, including the newest flavor, cchocolate-colored chocolate raspberry cake.
