Dunkin' Donuts Submits Application for Westhampton Beach Location
The coffee shop will be before the planning board on Feb. 13.
Dunkin' Donuts is one step closer to opening a location on Montauk Highway in Westhampton Beach.
Earlier this week, the coffee chain submitted a formal application to the Village of Westhampton Beach for a 12-seat luncheonette in the north-east corner of a new 1,000 square-foot building being built for True Value Hardware.
According to Paul Houlihan, the village's building administrator, a luncheonette is a permitted use in that corridor of Montauk Highway.
Patch readers have already had mixed reviews of a chain coffee store opening in the village. In an article published in October 2013 developer Paul Pawlowski knocked down the old photo shop and a single family house to make room for True Value Hardware and the donut shop, readers posted the following:

Kym Laube October 29, 2013 at 12:08 PMI am certainly happy for our community grown new hardware store where you are known by name. However I am saddened by a chain/franchise "have to check with corporate" business coming here. We need more curb appeal, more community charm with a personal touch. Not sure will will get there this way.
Ivete Kilmer November 07, 2013 at 07:56 PMThis is great. It will give more job opportunities for the kids in the community. Plus I love Dunkin' Donuts. Yay!!
The Dunkin' Donuts application will be before the village planning board on Feb. 13 at 7:00 p.m. at Village Hall.
