Dockers on the Market for $13.5 Million

Restaurant owner does not believe a sale would effect his business.

As Dockers Waterside Restaurant & Marine of East Quogue gets underway with its 24th season, its future hangs in the balance.

The owner of the property, James Bozart, has decided to put the 9.3-acre waterfront property on the market for $13.5 million.

However, Larry Hoffman, who owns the restaurant, is hopeful that a sale of the property won't impact his business.

"If he sells the property, the sale is still subject to my lease," said Hoffman, who said his existing lease is for 15 years.

Hoffman also said he also owns a share in the property.

"Bozart is going to be 75 years old and I think he is at the point where he wants to retire," Hoffman said.

According to an article posted observer.com, the listing agent for the property, Michael Passaro of Trump International Realty, said the land is being marketed as a redevelopment piece with options such as residential with townhouses or as a yacht club.
