Floor Plans, Starting Rent Price Announced For New Village

The recently unveiled New Village at Patchogue website has added the floor plans for studio through three bedroom apartments coming to the former Swezey’s Department store location. However, what really has readers abuzz is the starting rent price of $2,050 announced on the property’s Facebook Page. Tritec Real Estate Company’s Chief Operating Officer Rob Loscalzo clarified to Patch Friday that rents will actually range from $1,350 or $2,900+ with several price levels in between, and that he will be speaking with his team to fix the previous announcement.

Southampton

County Probes Hepatitis Case at Driver's Seat Pub

A server at the Driver's Seat in Southampton was recently diagnosed with Hepatitis A, possibly exposing patrons to the virus and prompting a health department investigation, the county said on Thursday afternoon.

The Suffolk County Department of Health Services said preventive treatment — a free Hepatitis A vaccine or immune globulin — for the virus is available, for free, to anyone who dined at the Jobs Lane restaurant between Aug. 16 and 20.

The treatment can help to prevent or lessen the severity of the illness if it is given within two weeks of exposure. The virus may be spread by consuming food or drink that has been handled by an infected person, the health department said.

A thrift shop that for years has helped to raise funds for the Timothy Hill Children's Ranch in Riverhead has undergone a facelift.
