A rare poster from the 1920s depicting Carl Fisher's Montauk netted several thousand at auction on Friday. "Montauk Beach," circa 1929, went for $12,500, according to Alex Nelson, a spokeswoman for Swann Auction Galleries in New York City. The poster was estimated to sell for between $12,000 and $18,000.

After 40 Years, Southampton Business Still Going Strong

For over 40 years, Southampton Vacuum and Sewing Center on Jobs Lane has stood strong, as other shops came and went with the seasons. But through it all, Kellie Kossman — whose father, Gary, bought the Southampton Vacuum and Sewing Center first, after working there in the 1960s, before launching a second Riverhead location almost 30 years ago — the longtime family business has remained steadfast.

If you missed Pizzetteria Brunetti of Main Street in Westhampton Beach, you can now pop by and grab a slice or pie. The pizza  re-opened Thursday after it temporarily closed its doors for about a month to open a new pizzeria in the west village at 626 Hudson Street. The business announced that it needed to take a hiatus to train pizza makers at its new location.

Peconic Bay Winery Bottles Last Wine

It's the end of an era. Peconic Bay Winery announced Friday that it would be bottling its last wine for sale, the black-labeled Lowerre Family Estate, from the 2010 vintage.

Beer loves hankering for the opening of the Greenport Harbor Brewing Company's Peconic location on Main Road will have to wait a few months longer.
