Beach Greenery To Close After 15 Years in Business

The Beach Greenery, a year-round Westhampton Beach clothing and gift store will soon close its doors for good.

Owner Eileen Zingman said that after 15 years it's time to call it quits.

"I've been thinking about closing it for sometime now," she said. "It's hard to make money there."

Zingman, who said she sold her goods for much less than other area shops, said she is going to miss her customers and the lively Main Street summers when the village is open late to serve vacationers. But, she said, she wants to focus on her other job — interior landscaping, which she has been doing on the site for 30 years.

"It was just time," she said of closing her Westhampton Beach business.

But before she closes the Beach Grennery's doors for good, Zingman hopes to sell off all her merchandise.

She is now offering 70 percent off everything in the store on Fridays and weekends until everything is gone.

The store, which is located at 83A Main Street, will be open on select Fridays and weekends from 10:030 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Zingman suggests calling ahead: 631-288-0648.
