School District Budgets Pass in Quogue and Remsenburg/Speonk

Quogue School District

Quogue School District voters passed its $7.8 million budget on Tuesday, by an 82-to-10 votes, ushering in a new budget that includes a 1.95 percent increase in spending and 1.49 percent tax levy.

Incumbents Barbara Sartorius and Lauren Battista retained their seats with 73 and 79 votes respectively. Also elected in the uncontested race was newcomer Joyce Flynn, who received 73 votes. 

Remsenburg/Speonk

Taxpayers in the Remsenburg/Speonk School District approved their school district’s  $12,866,909 budget, which carries a 4.20 spending increase and 2.36 percent tax levy increase, in a 240 to 120 vote.

Voters also elected Incumbent John Kern and John Barry, who ran unopposed to the school board. Kern received 274 votes and Berry 297 votes.
