Finding a Home for Cecee

Cecee is a little dog that has graced the Adoption Center at Bideawee with her presence for the past 10 months.

As autumn settles in, many people reflect on the year, and often find themselves reminiscing upon the memories of seasons past.  At Bideawee, many staff members are thinking of the uplifting story of Cecee’s journey. Cecee is a little dog that has graced the Adoption Center at Bideawee with her presence for the past 10 months.

Cecee is an adorable 1 ½ year old Rat Terrier/Chihuahua mix, who has touched the hearts of all the staff members at the Adoption Centers at Bideawee in Westhampton and NYC.  After Bideawee rescued Cecee from a high-kill municipal shelter it became apparent that hiding behind that timid and scared exterior was a loving affectionate dog.  The Adoption Center at Bideawee’s Animal Care Supervisor, Amy Steares, described Cecee as “very scared and in need of a significant amount of individual care that would provide her with multiple opportunities to interact and bond with people.”   The staff at Bideawee saw potential in Cecee and started working diligently on her socialization, so she could blossom into a wonderful dog.

With the care and attention that Cecee received from the staff at the Adoption Center at Bideawee it didn’t take long for her to warm up and begin showcasing her lovely personality.  Due to Cecee’s caring nature and her desire for affection, she quickly became a constant companion to many of the staff.  In addition to Cecee’s bonding with the staff she’s made quite and impact on the volunteers that are the beneficiaries of her fondness for napping in their arms.  Cecee has quickly become a favorite with the Bideawee staff and volunteers.  Bideawee volunteer, Lenore Parker, has described her as “the perfect dog; an absolute cuddle bunny… she is simply 10 pounds of joy.”   In a continued effort to socialize her, Cecee often spends entire afternoons at the Adoption Center at Bideawee’s front desk and has become a wonderful greeter to Bideawee visitors.

Cecee is an affectionate, caring and cuddly dog that is looking for a loving, patient family who will give her time to get to know them and be their constant companion.  Since Cecee is likely to become very attached and protective of her forever family in the presence of other dogs she should be the only dog in the home.  As Cecee waits for her forever home, she will continue to bring joy to the staff and volunteers caring for her at the Adoption Centers at Bideawee.

If you’re interested in meeting Cecee and helping her to complete her journey by giving her the forever home she so deserves, please visit the Adoption Center at Bideawee in Westhampton or call 631-325-0200.
