Realist Artist Richard Mizdal at the Quogue Library Art Gallery

Artist reception Saturday, September 8th from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. (Including a talk on Photo Imaging) All are welcome.

Professor Richard Mizdal has created a new and unique fine art process that hybridizes the arts of painting, photography and computer.  His new works will be on exhibit along with explanatory signage and photo examples of actual processes of their creation.

These hybrids were developed in the black and white photo darkroom without a camera.  Photographic paper was painted on using many photo chemicals exposed at different times, developed and then scanned into the computer and subsequently colored.  The files were printed as archival giclees. The work combines the traditional hand process of painting with the contemporary harnessing of the computer's coloration capabilities.  The result is very exciting color and abstract design probably not achievable by conventional methods.  It is generally recognized by art authorities that hybridization of traditional and new art forms are in the creative forefront of fine arts today.
