Hampton Theatre Company Holds Auditions for "My Three Angels"
The Hampton Theatre Company will hold open auditions for My Three Angels, "about a band of angelic convicts who come to the rescue of a lovely young woman and her hapless family on Christmas day in French Guiana," according to the company's description of the production, on Aug. 14 from 2 to 4 p.m. and Aug. 15 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. There are seven male roles and three roles for women. Both union and non-union actors can audition. Rehearsals will begin after Labor Day and performances will be from Oct. 20 through Nov. 6 .
The following roles are needed (according to the theater):
- MARIE LOUISE DUCOTEL (20s), a beautiful and innocent young woman
- FELIX DUCOTEL (50s), Marie Louise's father, a thoroughly amiable and impractical soul who operates a general store in a penal colony
- EMILIE DUCOTEL (40s-50s) - Marie Louise's mother, a good and patient woman who loves her husband
- MME. PAROLE (40s-60s) - A non-paying customer who is as "scatterbrained as a fox"
- JOSEPH (40s-50s) - A convict, ex-forger and expert in creative accounting
- JULES (40s-50s) - A convict who killed a faithless wife, well-educated and introspective
- ALFRED (20s-30s) - A convict and ex-playboy (with a heart of gold) who murdered for money
- HENRI TROCHARD (50s-60s) - Felix's cold-hearted and miserly cousin
- PAUL (20s-30s) - Henri's nephew and one-time suitor to Marie Louise, weak and greedy
- LIEUTENANT (20s-30s) - An extremely handsome young naval officer.
