East End Arts Brings "Animals" to the Quogue Library

This summer the Art Gallery will feature a special juried exhibition in coordination with East End Arts, the premier non-profit arts organization of the East End.

Artists’ Reception: Saturday, June 9th, 3 – 5 p.m.

East End Arts will be celebrating animals this summer as part of their Gallery’s 2012 theme: Life as Art. The 40-year-old non-profit arts organization in Riverhead is partnering with the Quogue Library Art Gallery for an upcoming Art Show: Animals. The portion of the juried exhibit to take place at the Art Gallery will feature photography and poetry by local artists. The jurors will be Richard Demato of the Richard Demato Gallery in Sag Harbor, and Harriet Sawyer, an artist represented at the Demato Gallery. This coincides with a juried, all media (excluding photography and poetry) show on the same subject which will take place at the East End Arts Gallery in Riverhead also juried by Demato and Sawyer. This artistic partnership with the Quogue Library Art Gallery is East End Arts’ first South Fork gallery collaboration.

How will the shows’ guest jurors select the work? "We look for quality, originality and execution of technique -- art that speaks to us and provokes thought,” note Richard Demato and Harriet Sawyer.

Artists are invited to enter works in the corresponding mediums on the following drop-off dates:
