"DEATHTRAP"

The Hampton Theatre Company will shock audiences out of their winter doldrums with the longest running comic thriller in Broadway history, "Deathtrap" by Ira Levin, opening January 12 at the Quogue Community Hall. The rubix cube of a tale involves an out-of-ideas famous thriller writer, Sydney Bruhl, and his erstwhile student, Clifford Anderson, who appears to have written a potential Broadway hit. Or so it seems... "Deathtrap" will run for three weekends from Thursday, January 12 through Sunday, January 29.

Sydney Bruhl, the frustrated, albeit famous and wealthy, writer at the center of "Deathtrap," will be played in Quogue by Andrew Botsford, a familiar face on the East End who appeared most recently as Marc in the HTC's production of "ART." Tristan Vaughan, who made his HTC debut last spring as the romantic lead in "The Enchanted April," plays his clever counterpart Clifford. Rosemary Cline plays Myra Bruhl, Sydney's wife; Diana Marbury plays the psychic Helga Ten Dorp; and newcomer John J. Steele, Jr. plays Sydney's friend and lawyer, Porter Milgrim.
