Art Gallery at the Quogue Library: Interpretations of the Female Form

In observance of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Quogue Library and the library's Art Gallery Committee have scheduled a number of special programs and activities in October, including a group show in the art gallery exploring the beauty and complexity of the female form as it is portrayed by nine East End artists.

Renaissance painters saw the female form as a type of perfection inspiring contemplation and reverence, while contemporary artists have explored its diversity and singularity, often obscuring or distorting classical depiction.
