Westhampton Beach Resident To Serve as Grand Marshal of New York City St. Patrick's Day Parade

Francis (Frank) X. Comerford will lead the annual St. Patrick's Day parade in Manhattan on Saturday.

Francis (Frank) X. Comerford, a part-time Westhampton Beach resident who is the chief revenue officer and president of commercial operations for NBC-owned television stations in Manhattan, has been selected to serve as the grand marshal of the 251st annual New York City St. Patrick's Day parade. 

Comerford, who also has a home in Bay Ridge with his family, will kick off the parade on March 17, at 11 a.m.

According to an article posted on 27east, Comerford, whose ancestors hail from  County Kilkenny, Ireland, said serving as grand marshal is a "privilege and an honor."

John Dunleavy, Chairman of the Parade, said, "We are delighted Frank has been selected as the 2012 Grand Marshal. He is an outstanding Irish American who has devoted a huge amount of his energy and charisma contributing to the legacy of the Irish in this great country. He has been instrumental in raising the profile of the Parade across the world through the media of television and the web. We look forward to a wonderful day celebrating our Irish heritage with Frank at the helm."
