Mark Williams, head of Westhampton’s First Amendment Alliance, was before the village board to discuss a controversial plan to establish a symbolic Jewish boundary called an eruv in Westhampton Beach. He said an Eruv needs a governmental proclamation under Jewish law before it can be built.

Only hours after graduating from , celebration turned to grim tragedy and friends are mourning East Quiogue resident Cameron Nicholls, 18, who they say lost his life in a tragic DWI car crash.

On Fourth of July weekend, Matt and Karen Worrell of East Quogue had an Independence Day celebration of a different magnitude — their youngest son arrived home safely from a year-long tour of duty in Iraq.

All ages were on the Post Lane Bridge to watch the expected splash and flotilla of 2,000 ducks emerge under the bridge on their way to the finish line.
