Westhampton Grad Places First Runner Up for Miss Long Island Title

Local contestant Robin Bonner was first runner up in the weekend's Miss Long Island 2014 competition.

The votes were tallied and Westhampton's Robin Bonner came in as first runner up title in the Miss Long Island 2014 competition this weekend.

The pageant spotlighted 37 of Long Island’s most beautiful and accomplished young women, who competed for titles of Miss Long Island and Miss Long Island Teen 2014.

The two winners, Michelle Medoff of Great Neck, who won the Miss Long Island 2014 title, and Sabrina Franza of Oceanside, who won the Miss Long Island Teen 2014 crown, will advance to Donald Trump’s New York USA 2014 Pageant in January.

Competing in pageant is not a new concept for Bonner, participated in the 2012 Miss America Pageant as Miss Rhode Island. She lost to Miss Wisconsin Laura Kaeppeler, but said she wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Bonner 21, competed in the contest as a collage grad — in May, she graduated  with a BS in textiles from the University of Rhode Island cum Laude.

If the title holder, Michelle Medoff, is for any reason not able to fulfill her duties as Miss Long Island or if she goes on to win the state pageant, Miss New York USA, Bonner would assume the title of Miss Long Island.
