With the accolade portion of the meeting complete, the board of trustees got down to business by approving regular first-of-the-year agenda items. Among them, the scheduling of the trustee’s general election, which is set for Friday, Jun. 17; the authorization of small claims real property tax reductions and small claims property reductions; the approval a $7,650 service contract for the village’s telephone system; and authorization to enter into a contract agreement for $600 a month for maintenance of traffic signals.

The board of trustees also approved a permit application submitted by Fuchu’s Fajita Grill for outdoor music.

As per the permit, Funcho’s is permitted to have live outdoor music on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays between the hours of 4:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. However, stipulations in the permit do not allow for speaker systems to be used or for more than four instruments to be used in a live, outdoor performance.

The Westhampton Beach Village Board will meet again on January 18 for a work session that will be held at 7:00 p.m at village hall.
