Chris Paparo, a diver, recently posted a video of a stingray swimming on the bottom of the ocean near the Ponquogue Bridge in Hampton Bays, which is a popular spot among area divers.

This summer, customers at Island Surf in Westhampton Beach are venturing in to buy paddleboards, rather than surfboards and other watersports gear.

Hampton Bays residents — some there to see the deteriorating Canoe Place Inn brought back to its former glory, and others who have concerns about a busy business coming to their neighborhood and near the water — poured into Town Hall Wednesday to speak out on a change of zone petition and draft environmental impact statement on the plan.

Construction Commences At Former Bowling Alley

On Wednesday afternoon, chain link fence was being installed at the former Westhampton Beach bowling alley as part of a project to transform the building into an mini indoor mall.

Petition Aids Good Ground Park Grant Submission

The Hampton Bays community banned together over the past six weeks to gather signatures and letters of support needed for a grant that will help fund the planning and design phase of a planned revitalization project at the 36-acre Good Ground park in Hampton Bays. 

Hampton Bays Library Budget Passes

On Tuesday, Hampton Bays residents voted to approve the Hampton Bays 2014 library budget.

The $2.04 million budget was approved with 135 residents voting yes and 24 voting no. The budget will go into effect on January 1, 2014.
